UACH Ecosystem

The VIDCA System, DSpace-CRIS repository, and their integrations bring together different parts of the university's research information.

Who it is for

Researchers, academic units, and university management teams.

Current status

Institutional applications and integrations in operation.

Net-Works' role

Development of the VIDCA System, DSpace-CRIS 7 customization, OAI-PMH exchange, and assisted queries.

Project outcome

Research information is managed in the VIDCA System, exchanged through OAI-PMH, and published in DSpace-CRIS.

How it is built

Sources, architecture, and tools

Information sources

Institutional staff and project data, bibliographic records from Web of Science, Scopus, and SciELO, and ORCID and Scopus identifiers.

Architecture

A domain-structured Flask application with SQLAlchemy on the backend and Vue 3, Vite, and Inertia in the interface. The repository runs on DSpace-CRIS 7.

Data and exchange

MySQL is the main database. A separate Flask provider exposes Dublin Core metadata through OAI-PMH to feed DSpace-CRIS.

Analysis and AI

NetworkX, Sigma, Graphology, and ECharts support networks and indicators. OpenRouter is used in an assisted query feature restricted to read-only access over authorized tables.

The problem

What the project needed

This was not a single application. The work covered internal information management, the scientific repository, metadata exchange, and assisted queries for authorized users.

Our work

What we developed

  • VIDCA System for researchers, publications, projects, units, and networks.
  • DSpace-CRIS 7 with design and profiles adapted to the institution.
  • An OAI-PMH provider that feeds the repository from other systems.
  • An administrative assistant for simple natural-language queries.
